February Christmas Presents!

Juice Plus International Conference

This weekend I head off to my first International Conference. One that promises to be filled with people sharing experiences, passing on tips and learning about new Juice Plus products.

I have experienced Irish conferences before and there is a great buzz in the room. The numbers would be small compared to the UK and I am very keen to see how our near neighbours stage these events. 3,000 mission driven people in one room over 2 days.  These people are existing franchisees – mothers, fathers, teachers, personal trainers, doctors, teachers and previously unemployed. They possibly were once sceptical too but the difference is they got over that initial fear and are now very successful.

We will also have people attending the conference who are curious about the business and products. Where better than to learn than at this event. They will be receiving guidance and then they can make  decision for themselves.

Another reason for this Conference is the sense of belonging to a wider community. Smaller Juice Plus events take place on a daily basis around the UK and Ireland but this brings everyone together to re-focus or start a new with the Juice Plus+ franchise.

There is obviously a cost involved in travelling to the UK. I was fortunate enough to get to go to the Conference as a Christmas present from my fiancé. A lady that I am really appreciative of. She knows this is what I want to do full time and her support has been amazing.

If I wasn’t passionate about the Juice Plus+ products or the Juice Plus+ franchise, I could have easily opted for the latest gadget at Christmas (which I normally do). If I wasn’t passionate, I wouldn’t be catching a bus at 4.15am on Friday morning to go to the airport for a 6.30am flight. We know that the products change lives and we know that the franchise opportunity does so also.

At these events, you see the bigger picture and unfortunately my team members are not able to join me. I look forward to sharing my experiences  with them and you in my next blog.

The legendary UK band Blue also perform at the Conference. I would love to know how many times ‘One Love’ will be sung to them over the weekend.

Franchise Opportunity!

When looking for franchise opportunities, people look at various factors before purchasing. Quite often the costs can run into thousands. Is success guaranteed?
Personally, I have looked into franchising before and simply did not have have the money!
What I have found is a lost cost franchise that costs €60 and it is the best I have ever seen.

Junk Food Kids!

Juice plus premium

Junk Food Kids

I have recently  finished a documentary on TV called Junk Food Kids and I am quite shocked really. The name says it all about a documentary set in the UK where childhood obesity is on the rise.

The mother and her children walk around the supermarket and eat their sushi and sandwiches and share an apple juice. When it comes to the crisp aisle, a 20 pack was purchased for convenience and cost.

Ironic?

The same mother attempting an Oscar winning performance saying her heart is breaking seeing her daughter ‘Talula’ suffer. Of course, the tears came from the mother who refused to take any blame for her child’s obesity. She then asks Talula to run upstairs and fetch her some tissue. Talula responds that she can get the tissue downstairs. Is taking the easy option rubbing off on Talula? Irony? Another child had 75% of his baby teeth removed and Talula suffered terrible tooth decay also. This should never happen  and costing the NHS in the United Kingdom millions of pounds.

In Ireland, we have a programme called Operation Transformation. This starts around the beginning of the year. A PE teacher was assigned to a specific school to get the kids more active. In doing so, there was marked improvements in the behaviour and fitness of the children noted by the teachers and professors involved.Yet,the powers that be will only recommend that the children complete only 45 minutes of physical activity per week. Surely this is not enough!

Who to blame?

Personally, I think it is a combination of the supermarkets, the schools, the manufacturer of products and the parents. Ultimately, it lies with the parents as they can select what goes into a child’s mouth.

What can be done?

A combination of both good food and exercise is the simple solution. A diet enriched in fruits, vegetables and berries with plenty of water and ditching highly processed food.

The Juice Plus company is doing something about it as we try and inspire healthy living across the world! .Children can receive the product for free. The benefits and the information is in the link below.
